The Leone XIV International Study Center was formally established by public deed on 16 December 2025 as a non-profit Third Sector Entity (ETS), pursuant to the Italian Civil Code and Legislative Decree no. 117/2017.
The Association is based in Florence, at the Augustinian Community of Santo Spirito, and operates as an apolitical and non-partisan institution dedicated to research, education, international dialogue and cultural cooperation.
The Statute defines the institutional identity of the Center and regulates:
- its civic, cultural and educational purposes;
- the governance structure and governing bodies;
- membership categories and participation rules;
- financial management and transparency principles;
- scientific, educational and publishing activities;
- relations with institutions, universities and international organizations.
Particular attention is devoted to:
- international relations and supranational cooperation;
- social doctrine and human dignity;
- sustainable policies and the common good;
- scientific research and higher education;
- cultural dissemination and civic engagement.
The Statute also establishes the roles and responsibilities of the Assembly, the Board of Directors, the President, the Scientific Committee and the other institutional bodies of the Association.
