The Pope Leo XIV International Study Centre, based at the Convent of Santo Spirito in Florence – Order of Saint Augustine, promotes social and political formation inspired by the Church’s Social Doctrine.

The Pope Leo XIV International Study Centre was established at the Convent of Santo Spirito in Florence, within the Order of Saint Augustine.
It was created in response to the appeal of Pope Leo XIV to rediscover the teaching of the Social Doctrine of the Church as a living guide for understanding and addressing the challenges of our time.
The Centre aims to promote, at both national and international level, a high-quality human, social and political formation, inspired by the Gospel and by the principles of the Church’s Social Doctrine.
Purpose and vision
The Study Centre seeks to help every person, regardless of background or belief, to develop a true and authentic view of daily life, grounded in the Christian message and the values of unity and solidarity.
It encourages the growth of a culture of dialogue and participation, overcoming fear and division, and fostering relationships based on trust and shared responsibility.
Formation and collaboration
Training activities are offered through courses, lectures, and conferences with an interdisciplinary approach, addressing theology, philosophy, and social sciences.
The Centre collaborates closely with the Theological Faculty of Central Italy and with other academic and cultural institutions that share its aims and inspiration.
Official presentation
The Pope Leo XIV International Study Centre will be officially presented on 14 October 2025, at 11:30 a.m., in the Sala di Lorenzo of Palazzo Vecchio, Florence, in the presence of civil and religious authorities of the Diocese and the Augustinian Order.
